SANDROCK MUSIC OF BALDWIN CITY, KANSAS, HOSTED CHURCH ORGAN WORKSHOP FEATURING LOCAL PROFESSOR!
Saturday November 11, 2023 Sandrock Music Company hosted a group of wonderful organists for a church organist workshop. Dr. David Pickering was our workshop clinician. Dr. Pickering, Professor of Organ and Music Theory and Chair of the Keyboard Division at K-State University covered a wide range of topics: a review of the stops on the organs, the basics of hymn registrations, general hymn playing guidelines, creative hymn playing techniques, creative hymn introductions, and hymn re-harmonization ideas as well as a question and answer session.
